Supply chain management
Our Approach to Supply Chain Management
We aim to create a sustainable society in our supply chain while fostering trusting relationships with all our suppliers. In our procurement practices, we conduct fair transactions that are ethical and legally compliant. We promote environmentally and socially responsible procurement activities and are committed to delivering high-quality products and solutions.
Sustainable Procurement Policy
1. Partnership and Mutual Prosperity
We aim to build long-term relationships based on trust, mutual understanding, and cooperation with all suppliers to foster a sustainable society throughout the supply chain and achieve shared prosperity.
2. Fair and Equitable Transactions
In our procurement activities, we ensure that all suppliers have the opportunity for fair and equitable competition. Suppliers will be selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of their technical capabilities, quality, pricing, delivery timelines, legal compliance, management practices, environmental friendliness, and other relevant factors.
3. Legal Compliance and Ethics
We are committed to understanding and complying with domestic and international laws, regulations, and social norms. We will conduct all transactions with suppliers in an ethical and responsible way.
4. Human Rights, Labor, and Health and Safety
We respect human rights and diversity and inclusion while striving to eliminate discrimination against all suppliers. Our procurement activities will take into account labor conditions, as well as health and safety standards.
5. Environment
We conduct procurement activities with a focus on environmental sustainability, including energy conservation, resource conservation, waste reduction, and the purchase of eco-friendly products. Our goal is to reduce and mitigate environmental impacts, particularly in addressing climate change, in partnership with our suppliers.
6. Safety and Quality of Products and Solutions
Through our Quality Policy, we ensure that our procurement activities prioritize the safety and quality of our products and solutions.
7. Information Security
In alignment with our Basic Policy on Information Security, we strictly protect the confidentiality of all suppliers' confidential and personal information. We maintain ongoing risk management and conduct procurement activities with a strong commitment to ensuring information security.
TOYO Corporation Sustainable Procurement Guideline
Communication and Explanation of Procurement Policy to Suppliers
We provide explanatory sessions for suppliers to ensure understanding and promote engagement with our approach to supply chain management. During these sessions, we share the “TOYO Corporation Sustainable Procurement Policy” and the “TOYO Corporation Sustainable Procurement Guidelines,” and request adherence to them.
Supplier Assessment and Development
We have established a procurement policy that selects suppliers based on the perspective of “Sustainable Procurement.” Since 2025, we have conducted questionnaire surveys of domestic suppliers. The aim is to understand the status of a wide range of topics, including environmental conservation, labor safety, and quality assurance within the supply chain related to our business, as well as corporate governance, fair trade practices, human rights, and information security.
Survey responses are analyzed and evaluated based on four ratings: “Excellent,” “Low Risk,” “Medium Risk,” and “High Risk.” Then, we request suppliers identified as having risks to make improvements. Depending on the level of risk, we conduct on-site visits or audits, followed by a re-evaluation after a specified period.
Results of the Sustainable Procurement Survey
In 2025, we conducted a questionnaire survey targeting 68 domestic suppliers and received responses from 38 companies (response rate: 55.9%). The results were as follows: Excellent: 13%, Low Risk: 21%, Medium Risk: 37%, High Risk: 29%. We provided feedback on the survey results to all suppliers who responded. For those identified as having risks, specific feedback regarding required initiatives was provided, and improvements were requested.
For new suppliers, we conduct questionnaire surveys on key environmental, social, and governance topics. This includes verifying compliance with labor and human rights laws, the appropriate use of chemicals, the exclusion of anti-social forces, and information security practices. Currently, the survey is designed for domestic suppliers, but we plan to expand our scope to include overseas suppliers.
Collaborative Initiatives
TOYO Corporation supports the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), has joined the Global Compact Network Japan (GCNJ), and participates in various GCNJ subcommittees. Within the Supply Chain Working Group, we collaborate with other participating companies to advance initiatives that promote sustainable procurement across the supply chain.
Conflict Minerals
TOYO Corporation has established guidelines in its “TOYO Corporation Sustainable Procurement Guideline,” stating that it will not use minerals (such as tantalum, tin, tungsten, gold, and others) that originate from conflict-affected and high-risk areas associated with human rights abuses, environmental destruction, corruption, and conflict.
In line with this policy, we actively investigate the use of conflict minerals in the products we offer and encourage our suppliers to adopt responsible mineral procurement practices. Additionally, we have a system in place to effectively respond to customer requests regarding the investigation of conflict minerals.
